A new American anthology series online horror show produced by Guillermo del Toro to be aired on Netflix, inspired by his collection of short stories that bears the same title, is named “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities”, formerly referred to as “Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight”. The eight distinct horrific stories in the collection push the boundaries of the traditional horror subgenre. Although the other episodes were scripted and filmed by a variety of directors, two of them were unique creations by del Toro. Everyone is excited about this lovely anthology from this Award-winning cinematographer, one of the best craftsmen in the field.
Being an executive producer as well as the founder of the show, del Toro offers audiences a painstakingly crafted Pandora’s Box of stories that balance fascination with dread, showcasing a group of authors and filmmakers all carefully chosen by the artist himself. We currently possess the official schedule of chapters in the order they’re meant to be seen, by rhythm and topic, and it premieres just in anticipation of Halloween. Del Toro stated that the goal of the Cabinet of Curiosities was to present the abnormalities and oddities that occur beyond our human realm. They carefully selected and assembled a collection of narratives and narrators to present these legends, regardless they originate in mythological realms, the paranormal, or merely inside our brains.

Who Is Guillermo Del Toro?
Mexican director, writer, and performer Guillermo del Toro Gómez is also a producer. The Shape of Water, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture as well as for directing in 2017, and also Pan’s Labyrinth, an Academy Prize fantastical movie from 2006, were both directed by him. In an endeavor to give the bizarre some sort of aesthetic beauty, Del Toro’s material has been distinguished by a great affinity for fairy tales and nightmares. He has always been fascinated by creatures, which he views as representations of enormous power. Additionally, he is renowned for his use of grotesque and sacred iconography, Catholic motifs, the celebration of flaws, mechanical and infernal concepts, usable special effects, and a predominance of amber illumination.
He was ranked among the top 100 global influencers by Time magazine in 2018, and in 2019 he was awarded a motion picture monument on the Hollywood Fame Walk. Del Toro has created a broad range of movies, including historical fantasy as well as horror movies, most of which are centered in Spain during the Spanish Civil War underneath the oppressive dictator of Francisco Franco, as well as the superhero comic interpretations of Blade II, infernal Hellboy, and thus its followup Hellboy II: The Golden Army. According to Del Toro, there are two political aspects to the horror tale. One is the abhorrent pro-institution mindset, the kind that says things like, “Never stray; always follow your elders.” The second variety of fairy tales is wholly anti-establishment and anarchistic.
