Grand Theft Auto 6 has reportedly ruled out two major concerns for players ahead of its November 19, 2026 release. According to Kinda Funny Gamecast, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson confirmed that the upcoming game will not include microtransactions at launch and was developed without generative AI.

The information emerged after Kinda Funny’s Andy Cortez and Greg Miller spoke with Nelson during a visit to Rockstar North. The two asked directly whether players could spend real-world money inside GTA 6 and whether generative AI had been used during development.

GTA 6 Focuses on a Human-Made Experience

Cortez recalled the response to the monetization question:

“Can you use your own real-world money to buy things in the game? No monetization.”

Miller also addressed generative AI, saying,

“I asked point blank, ‘is AI in the game?’ No AI.”

The report only addresses GTA 6’s main single-player experience, leaving questions about any future online component unanswered. GTA Online currently includes optional in-game purchases, but Rockstar has not announced similar plans for GTA 6.

The New York Times, cited by GameSpot via Yahoo, also reported that Rockstar emphasized the game’s “human-made craft.” Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
