Good Partner Episode 4: Recap
In episode 4 of ‘Good Partner,’ Eun-kyung asks Yu-ri to fight her case against her husband and Choi Sa-ra. She has compiled all the evidence, from text messages to wedding photos, explaining she kept them to avoid divorce since the guilty cannot file. Now, seeing the couple together, she’s ready to fight and wants to make it the best divorce trial in the nation.
The next day, Choi Sa-ra receives a court notice, realizing Eun-kyung knew about the affair. Her husband is equally shocked by the evidence attached to the lawsuit. Yu-ri wonders why Eun-Kyung wanted her to represent her, and Eun-Kyung explains she values her different perspective.
They then meet their client, a CEO fighting a divorce where his ex-wife demands a share of his company, even though they separated before the company was listed.
Meanwhile, Eun-kyung’s husband and Sa-ra hire a senior attorney specializing in criminal cases to handle their divorce. Ji-sang, Eun-kyung’s husband, wants custody of their daughter. In the CEO’s divorce court case, the evidence disadvantages the CEO as he has been sending money to his wife even after separation.
It’s revealed he felt responsible as the “breadwinner.” Eun-Kyung advises him to stop the payments and accepts they are no longer family, highlighting that he has “chained himself to these terms.”
Eun-kyung rescheduled the court date so their client’s youngest daughter could testify once she becomes a legal adult. She asks Yu-ri to pick her daughter up, and Yu-ri notices how much the daughter is like her mother. It’s revealed the daughter is aware of the divorce. Later, Yu-ri and Eun-ho drink too much and wake up in a motel together, leading to awkward avoidance.
Eun-kyung’s divorce news hits the internet, angering the law firm’s CEO. Woo-jin handles the issue. Eun-kyung meets her husband and declines to settle the case. He emotionally blackmails her, questioning her motherhood. The CEO’s wife visits, wanting to settle, but the man is unsure.
At the final hearing, a handwritten confession from their youngest daughter helps Eun-Kyung and Yu-ri win the case. Later, a court notice terms Woo-jin as Eun-kyung’s office husband, implying an affair. The episode ends with Yu-ri finding Eun-kyung and Woo-jin in a compromising position.
