Gold Rush Season 14, the enduring unscripted adventure reality show on Discovery Channel, ventures into the lives of gold miners in the Yukon. This season takes the excitement to new heights, with thrilling exploration challenges, resurfaced rivalries, and unexpected twists. Each team digs deep into the earth, fueled by the hope of unearthing precious gold.
The season began with Parker Schnabel diving headfirst, both financially and physically, into a 4-acre plot, completing the task in just three days. Exhausting his crew and pushing his equipment to the breaking point, he embraced a high-stakes approach of risk and reward.
In the latest episode, we witnessed Tony Beets confronting the daunting task of relocating his entire equipment to the Indian River claim. He faced numerous challenges, including treacherous terrain, harsh weather conditions, and unforgiving mud. Meanwhile, we also witnessed Rick’s return, seeking assistance from Parker. Now, let’s delve into the intriguing events that unfolded in the most recent episode.
Recap
This episode is titled “Last Ditch Gold”, so here’s what went down with the crews. Let’s start off with Parker Schnabel, who found himself in a difficult situation: After meandering endlessly about how he’s on the verge of bankruptcy after buying a plot of land that has soil too thick and difficult to extract gold from, he chose to sluice the ditches at the Dominion Creek Claim.
As things were on their way, there was a malfunction that required some MacGyver tinkering of the sorts. You see, a water intake was busted and causing trouble, so the crew went and replaced that water intake hose with a big old silicone tube.
And the last of the unforgiven cut finds thirty ounces worth of gold. Then, the dominion cut finds were much greater: 132.45 ounces.
Remember last week when Tony Beets hasn’t found a single speck of gold and then had the inspectors do a surprise visit and shut his ass down in the Indian River Claim? After some talks, paying some fines, and doing some boring desk job stuff, the mining inspectors allowed Tony Beets to mine the Indian River Claim.
With all this equipment being used up to the point of breakdown, we saw a tailings diverter panel getting welded into place shortly before the cleanup crew found 61.88 ounces.
Next is Rick Ness, who has to pay his landlord and the envelopes are getting thinner each payday. He finally runs out of his stockpiled pay. He talks about how he wants to reopen Rally Valley but chooses the Bacon Strip Cut with the plan of running a 500-yard test and has to find at least five ounces of gold to make that endeavor profitable. His last of the stockpiled pay finds amounts to 12.34 ounces. And that Bacon Strip finds 4.6 ounces.
