Netflix is up to bring the turtle kaiju Gamera to help the people against the giant human-eating monsters. The story takes place in the summer of 1989, and four kids in Tokyo see him emerging from the ocean. However, the trailer shows that his entry in the upcoming series will shake the city.
It is the first animated Gamera series based on a fictional giant flying and fireball-breathing turtle, Kaiju. The character is taken from a series of Japanese movies created to compare with the Godzilla. The giant turtle debuted in 1965 through the film, ‘Gamera, The Giant Monster.’
Gamera, appreciated by Kaiju lovers since the 1960s, will resist five rival creatures within six episodes in the upcoming series. On the one hand, the Gamera fans get chills, and their eyes fill with tears after hearing the roars in the trailer. On the other hand, even Godzilla fans think that Gamera deserves a comeback.
Created by Niisan Takahashi, Gamera–Rebirth cast includes Saori Hayami, Mamoru Miyano, Hisako Kanemoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Aki Toyosaki, and Subaru Kimura. The production companies are ENGI and Kadokawa, and the sound mix is provided by Dolby Digital.

Gamera-Rebirth-Episode 1 Preview
Kiajus are the strange beasts from the Anteverse that threaten the people. However, Gamera, a Kaiju, proves that all creatures from his breed are not worse. He will arrive in Gamera-Rebirth-Episode 1 to focus on saving Earth instead of humanity. In that case, the viewers are worried about Gamera attacking humanity if it puts the planet at stake.
Gamera fans consider it better than Godzilla, who only protected his turf. So, the first episode will establish a new fan following that Gamera and other such Kaijus, who deserve a place in the Godzilla-dominated market.
Meanwhile, some fans also argue that Gamera will end up hurting or killing some innocent lives if the series goes according to the 1965 movie. People have noticed that the series creator used 24fps CGI, which looks laggy and acts as a loophole. 30fps would be a better option because the series is not 2D.
Gamera is more children-friendly compared to Godzilla because the former has saved and raised a kid from its birth. Only the first movie portrayed Gamera as a direct threat, but the further films showed him as a guardian hero who saves Earth against its rivals. Let us hope Gamera-Rebirth-Episode 1 establishes this aspect.
On the other hand, the series trailer does not show Gamera protecting the children. The children are there only to witness his comeback. The movie director did not intend to portray Gamera as child-friendly. Only the first movie was successful, whereas those depicting Gamera as children-friendly did not work in Japan.
Thus, the first episode might establish a new storyline mixing the old and the new concepts. After all, the production team must think for a wide range of audiences. Watching the humans in 2D and the giant creatures in 3D would affect the audience differently, but we know how expensive it would be for the creators and the audience.
The series looks like a Shonen anime, targeting teen boys from twelve to eighteen, or a Seinen, targeting young men from eighteen to forty, but not a kid anime (Kodomo-Muke) because it contains violence, and Japan does not have violent content for kids. Anime lovers can easily guess it after comparing Gamera-Rebirth to kids’ anime like Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade, and more.
