The tale of Gachiakuta unfolds in a society’s affluent slums, inhabited by descendants of exiled criminals. Among them resides Rudo, a young boy disdainful of the upper-class extravagance. Discarded into “The Pit,” a colossal dumpsite for society’s refuse, including criminals, Rudo learns from his foster father Regto that his biological father suffered a similar fate for a crime.
Tragedy strikes when Rudo returns from scavenging to find Regto murdered. Falsely accused due to his status, Rudo is cast into The Pit, where he awakens amidst a foul and infinite wasteland, beset by monstrous trash beasts. Saved by Enjin, who reveals they are not underground but fallen from “The Sphere,” Rudo discovers his latent power as a “Giver.”
Enjin, leader of the Cleaners a group wielding “vital instruments” to combat trash beasts offers Rudo a chance for revenge against those who wronged him if he joins their ranks. Gachiakuta announced its upcoming TV anime adaptation by Studio Bones, slated for 2025. The anime’s official website launched with a teaser trailer and visual, alongside special artwork and messages from creators Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou.
Leading the anime’s production are Director Fumihiko Suganuma, Series Composition by Hiroshi Seko, Character Design, and Chief Animation Director Satoshi Ishino, with Animation Production by Studio BONES. Further details will be revealed during the Anime Expo on July 4.
