FUBAR Filming Locations: Where Is The Spy Series Filmed?

Arnold Schwarzenegger fans were excited about his return to the small screen with the comedy-spy thriller titled FUBAR. Directed by Michael Dowse, the action-comedy series focuses on the relationship dynamic between a father and daughter unknown of each other’s truth. The series showcased to the viewers how the absence of a parent negatively affects their child’s life.

Created by Nick Santora, the series stars Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the role of Luke Brunner, the protagonist of FUBAR, dad of Emma; Monica Barbaro plays the role of Emma Brunner, daughter of Luke and C.I.A. operative; Mila Carter plays the role of Barry, Gabriel Luna plays the role of Boro Polonia, Fortune Feimster plays the role of Ruth, Travis Van Winkle plays the role of Aldon, Fabian Udenio plays the role of Tally BrunnerLuke’s wife, Jay Baruchel plays Carter, Barbara Eve Harris plays the role of Dot, and Andy Buckley plays the role of Donnie.

FUBAR’s recurring cast consists of Devo Bostick playing the role of Oscar, David Chinchilla playing the role of Cian, Stephanie Say playing the role of Sandy, and Scott Thompson playing the role of Dr. Pfeffer. The series focused on a game of deception between a father and daughter alongside the evolution of their relationship after the truth came out. FUBAR had the audience hooked with its humor and storyline.

Many viewers felt the jokes in the series FUBAR fell flat, and the plot was inspired by earlier films starring Arnold. Though the acting of Arnold in the role of Luke was praised by millions, the series was just average.

FUBAR- Premise

FUBAR focuses on a 65-year-old C.I.A. agent Luke who is on the verge of retiring, and his daughter, who is also a part of C.I.A. with the codename Panda. The father-daughter duo is forced to come to terms with the harsh reality of their deceit towards each other after they are assigned to work on a mission together. Emma and Luke realize their relationship has been a lie as neither of them knew anything more than the other told them.

With time the duo learns to trust each other and compromise along the way for their mission to succeed. At the same time, Luke is working towards winning his ex-wife back as he is still in love with her. Trouble arises once Luke and Emma begin working together as their role in C.I.A. doesn’t exactly fit in the family dynamics as the daughter is thrilled to show her dad her combat skills and make him proud, whereas the dad isn’t ready to believe his daughter grew up.

Luke’s protectiveness towards Emma gives rise to several comical situations. The series begins with Luke completing his task of dealing with the mobsters from Russia. Barry, Luke’s co-worker, informs him about the upcoming retirement party held at their local C.I.A. office. Luke now lives with his ex-wife and daughter, who are kept in the dark about Luke’s profession.

As Luke arrives at the party, Barry pulls him aside and reveals that an agent with the code name Panda is in Guyana monitoring Boro Polonia, with the weapons and his plans of massive destruction. The case of safeguarding Panda is assigned to Luke, and he is sent on his last mission before retirement against his wishes. Luke poses as Finn and arrives at Guyana, where he discovers the truth behind his daughters’ involvement with the CIA.

The pair is held at gunpoint by Boro’s men after getting caught hiding in the forest. Each episode of FUBAR focused on missions that Emma and Luke underwent to fail Boro’s plans. It also showcased the struggle of Emma in balancing her love life and work life, whereas Luke is forced to come to terms with his ex-wife moving on with Andy.

Each episode of FUBAR ended in suspense for the viewers to know what would happen next. Viewers were disappointed by the lack of action by Arnold as they were expecting a lot from him.

F.U.B.A.R. Filming Locations-

1. Antwerp, Belgium

Antwerp is the largest city, located near the Scheldt River in Belgium, a country in Europe. Antwerp was used by the production crew as the prominent location to film several parts of the series.

The crew was chosen because of its brilliant architecture and rich cultural heritage. The crew used Lambermontplaats as the location to film the part of the series with the epic car chase. The exterior scenes in the series were filmed at Diamantwijk and Hoveniersstraat.

2. Toronto, Ontario

Toronto, a city and the capital of Ontario, was used by the crew to film some of the important parts of the series.
