Forza Horizon 6 has generated an estimated $210.5 million in gross revenue on Steam, making it the highest-grossing new 2026 release in Alinea Analytics’ latest market analysis. The figure places Playground Games’ latest open-world racer ahead of Crimson Desert, which is estimated to have generated $203.3 million on Valve’s PC storefront.

The figures come from Alinea Analytics market analysis lead Rhys Elliott, whose September 3 report examined Steam’s performance during the first eight months of 2026. Importantly, the $210.5 million figure is an industry estimate for gross Steam revenue, rather than an officially announced sales figure from Xbox or Playground Games.

Forza Horizon 6 Tops Steam’s New Releases

Alinea Analytics places Forza Horizon 6 at the top of its estimated revenue ranking for new 2026 Steam releases. Crimson Desert follows at $203.3 million, while Resident Evil Requiem ranks third with approximately $200.9 million.

The strong performance comes as Steam itself experiences a major year. Alinea estimates that the platform has generated around $15 billion in gross revenue during the first eight months of 2026, approximately 15% higher than the same period in 2025. The analyst expects Steam to potentially finish the year above $20 billion in gross revenue for the first time.

Forza Horizon 6 launched in May 2026 from Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios, taking the Horizon Festival to Japan. The game features more than 550 real-world cars and the largest open-world driving environment in the series, according to Xbox.

The game’s Japanese setting also became a major part of its identity. Xbox Wire reported that Playground Games focused heavily on recreating Japan’s landscapes and culture, with Design Director Torben Ellert explaining that the game is ultimately about “freedom,” “fun,” “beauty,” and “community.”

The Steam version has also received a strong player response, with the storefront currently listing thousands of reviews and an overall “Very Positive” English-language rating.

With an estimated $210.5 million in Steam gross revenue, Forza Horizon 6 currently leads the highlighted new 2026 releases, giving Xbox and Playground Games another major commercial success for the long-running racing franchise.
