With a September 30 premiere on YTV and NTV at 5:30 p.m. JST (2:00 p.m. IST), this series promises non-stop action and heart-pounding rescues. And guess what? Based on the manga created by Masahito Soda, Firefighter Daigo perfectly captures the scorching infernos threatening to burn everything in their path, the crackling flames dancing wildly against the night sky, and our protagonist, Daigo Asahina (in the manga) standing fearlessly at the forefront.
But it’s not just Daigo who steals the spotlight in this blazing manga. His allies, each with their unique skill, work together to fight every challenge that comes their way. From the adrenaline-filled rescue missions to the nail-biting life-or-death situations, “Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M” delivers an explosive narrative that will leave you gasping for air.

Rescuer Orange: Details
Masahiko Murata directs the anime, and Brain Base produces it. The characters are designed by Hitomi Tsuruta and Koji Yabuno, and Shinzō Fujita handles the series composition. A fresh and exciting take on the 1995 manga, Rescuer Orange will tell a new and improved story, promising to set your screen on fire once again.
The cast of the anime series consists of Taku Yashiro voicing Shun Onoda, Junya Enoki voicing Daigo Toake, Ayane Sakura voicing Yuki Nakamura, Yūichi Nakamura voicing Sadaie Matoi, Tetsu Inada voicing Kyōsuke Yamagami, Yōhei Azakami voicing Hasebe, Ryōta Iwasaki voicing Watari, and finally, Kenjiro Tsuda as the Narrator.
The Plot of Rescuer Orange
The upcoming anime follows the “journey of three young firefighters who are destined to save Japan and grow in spirit.”
Toake Daigo, a prodigious talent with unmatched determination, is joined by Onoda Shun, who battles against his personal barriers, and Nakamura Yuki, a female firefighter aspiring to join the prestigious “Orange” rescue corps.
United by their dream, these three young firefighters embark on a journey that will define the future of Japan. But as they face a crisis threatening the entire nation, their true strength will be tested.
The teaser video is nothing short of fiery excitement, but the animation lacks a bit, but we’re sure this is only the tip of the iceberg for what’s about to come.
For those unfamiliar with the Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M, the manga, is basically an old-school fire-fighting series that speaks of a young boy aspiring to become a firefighter after being saved by one. The plot is fairly simple, the art is decent, and the characters are well-written.
The manga perfectly bottles down the struggles of a firefighter and the journey of becoming one. Although Rescuer Orange follows a new plot, we expect the same themes of training arcs, backstories, and issues that cause fires.
This series is known by a select few as it isn’t as popular today as it was in the 70s. I will agree the art style is old and has grown stale, but nevertheless, the new-age animation will undoubtedly bring the manga panels to life flawlessly.
Claimed to be “underrated,” the manga gives us a realistic view into the daily life of a firefighter and the challenges they have to overcome. Don’t forget to tune into Crunchyroll on September 30!
