Elle King’s look on the new year eve as the singer and host at Music City on Sunday, December 31 for New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville Big Bash was fabulous and gave shockwave to the fans. The ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ singer aced her appearance in a co-ord pink skirt and crop blazer outfit with dark hair.
The biggest change noticed by the fans was the weight loss journey effect seen on her and the change in hair color, due to which the fans failed to recognize her in the first instance when she made her way to the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park stage.
Elle King’s weight loss journey
Elle was married to Andrew Ferguson in February 2016 but got divorced in 2017 as Elle was said to be under domestic violence by Ferguson. By October 2020, it had come out that she was dating Dan Tooker, a tattoo artist. Later in the fall of 2021, Elle gave birth to her son, Lucky; she even released a song in her son’s name 11 months ago.
After giving birth to son, Lucky, like most of the new moms Elle also fell into postpartum depression. This depression causes a woman to go through floods of emotions, anxiety, tiredness, and sadness, and all this makes it tougher to take care of yourself along with a child. This depression made Elle’s weight go to 284 lbs.
After 2 years of her postpartum, she posted on her Instagram account about her journey from 284 lbs at 5’3 from pregnancy in 2021–2023. In a post from August 2023, Elle said, “It doesn’t happen overnight. It didn’t even happen in a year for me. In fact, it’s an ongoing, still working towards ever-changing goals kind of thing.”
No certain details had then been shared by Elle on the amount of weight she has lost, but she gave the details of the changes she adapted to achieve it. Elle said that she fell into an immense depression during her pregnancy, and she wasn’t aware of how deep the postpartum depression could be until she began to crawl out.
From her experience, it was making her body feel trapped, and she couldn’t even sing. To achieve the change she has now, she first started with slow metabolic workouts to light cardio so as to warm up her body, lungs, voice, and spirit.
The singer had said, “I am a creature of habit, so I changed my fucking habits. Every few weeks, I feel my body getting stronger. I add more workouts; I exercise with @pauldominic_, who is basically a bodybuilder.”
There were rumors around that Elle might be taking medications during her journey to lose weight, but she stepped in to shut down these rumors, clearing that she’s not taking any medications and also revealing that she has PCOS and is a pre-diabetic person. Elle also opened up about an overwhelming experience from her past, in which she said, “My diabetic grandfather died when I was 10 years old. I watched him prick his finger and give himself shots.”
Fan’s reaction to Elle King’s transformation
When the fans saw Elle on New Year’s Eve’s Nashville Big Bash, they were so amazed and deemed that they couldn’t believe whether it was her or not. She looked like a totally different person from the last time they saw her during a televised appearance.
The fans went, “That doesn’t look like Elle King at all!” Whereas a friend went, saying that she has lost so much weight, her hair is completely different, and even her voice has changed so much that they can’t say it’s her. The darker hair and her figure after the weight loss were totally confusing for the fans to recognize.
By getting gushed over her jaw-dropping new look, fans made comments on X (formerly twitter) saying “Elle looks exclusively good”. The other said, “Holy smokes, Elle King looks so freaking good, I didn’t even recognize her with dark hair!!”
It seems Elle is yet to shock her fans. Ahead of the show, Elle went on sharing her new year’s resolution with the audience, which sounds like she has a lot on her plate for her fans. Elle said, “My new year resolution for 2024 is to keep touring, keep making awesome music, finish my next record, and to be honest, be the best mom that I could be.”
