This is the age plagued by criminal cartels, and we are living in such an age. Day and night, the traffic of humans and organs alike. The drugs they push produce an endless stream of addicts who have no choice but to turn to crime to feed their addiction.
In the end, they wind up joining the very cartels that ensnared them. Nowadays, it is impossible to tell an innocent citizen from a cartel member. It is only a matter of time before the city becomes nothing more than a festering breeding ground for depravity.
These people are also clever enough to cover their tracks to avoid investigation. You can not justify arresting them unless they strike first. The fact of the matter is that the authorities can not be the first to use brute force.
This is especially true when it comes to the organization that is at the center of it all. Hepa is now trying to crawl out of the shadows and into the light. Now, the only thing that can save this world is an unofficial task force.
This task force is a team of talented agents who have personally suffered at the hands of the cartels. They will be thirsty for revenge, and they will succeed no matter what. Hale is one among them. Read to know how Marine Laine gets entangled in this mess.
Previously on Falling For Danger Chapter 20: Recap
In the previous chapter of Falling For Danger, that is, Chapter 20, we saw that Hale asks Marine Laine to stay out of his business and that she is intruding, and it makes him really uncomfortable. Marine Laine was just trying to help him heal his wounds and was just worrying about him.
Hale tells Marine Laine that it is an inconvenience and also a nuisance and that by now, she should have been able to tell that he is pushing her away time and time again.
Though Marine Laine can come across as being a bit nosy, she was genuinely just caring for him. He did not have to be that rude.
Marine Laine tells him not to come back here injured and hurt if he does not want her to worry about him. Obviously, it would not be right of Marine Laine to just still when the person in front of her is bleeding to death. Though she tried to look away, it just was not possible.
This is not the first time this has happened. Also, Marine Laine does not like the fact that Hale and his companion are at her house.
They are intruding into Marine Laine’s life, too. But at the same time, Marine Laine does not really hate living with them. It was just too complicated for her.
Pissed, Marine Laine just decides to sleep through the afternoon. And when she wakes up, she finds Hale doing all the household work. Marine Laine is surprised to see that Hale has also cooked dinner for the three.
