The horror science fiction anime “Exception,” which will premiere on Netflix in October 2022, is shown here for the first time. We have undoubtedly been waiting longer than a year to learn about “Exception,” the thrilling horror science animation that Otsuichi teased at Geeked Week in 2021.
The exception is a new Japanese anime that will air on Netflix and is an animated horror science fiction series. Otsuichi, the author of the bestselling books Goth and Zoo, created this anime series. Additionally, this animation is unique in that Yoshitaka Amano, a famed Japanese artist best known for creating stunning artwork for the Final Fantasy series, created the characters for it. Amano has also worked with Neil Gaiman on The Dream Hunters, and for this work, which was done outside of Japanese media, he was awarded the Bram Stoker Award.

The following is the Netflix summary for Exception:
In the far future, humans will be forced to abandon Earth and relocate to another galaxy. The crew of an advanced spacecraft arrives at the planet that will be terraformed. The team’s members are produced by a biological 3D printer, but a system malfunction causes one of the crew members, Lewis, to emerge in a deformed state. As Lewis turns on his fellow crew members, Nina, Mack, Patty, and Oscar, a countdown to the end of the mission begins in the frightening darkness of the ship.
An Announcement For “Exception”.
On June 10, 2021, Netflix announced the release of the new anime Exception. The inventor and character designer’s names were included in the tweet that made this news. It’s obvious from the poster that this horror anime will be an exciting ride. According to the Exception Netflix’s description, it will be based on the life of Hirotaka Adanchi, also known as Otsuichi. The character artwork is the creation of Yoshitaka Amamoto, who is also well-known for his work on Final Fantasy. The small staff that has been revealed thus far is encouraging, and it gives us hope that Exception might just change the way we think.
Is a trailer for the Exception Series available?
The new horror anime series Exception, which is set in space, now has a trailer and a release date on Netflix. During Netflix’s Geeked Week in June, the show debuted its first pictures. During the Netflix Festival Japan 2021 webcast in November, the show was initially unveiled. The creepy and lonely feeling of being alone in space is rather nicely depicted in the anime’s trailer. The program was made by Studio 5 and Tatsunoko Production.

Who are the “Exception” cast members?
It’s taken a long time, but we finally have the cast list for Exception;
Takahiro Sakurai played as Mack. Takahiro Sakurai’s characters, Griffith in Berserk and Giyuu Tomioka in Demon Slayer, are two of his most well-known works. Atsumi Tanezaki I played Patty. Due to her portrayal of Anya in Spy x Family, Atsumi Tanezaki has seen tremendous popularity in 2022.
Yuuko Kaida played Nina. Nina in Exception will be Yuuko Kaida’s first voice acting role. Chikahiro Kobayashi played as Lewis. Chikahiro Kobayashi should be well-known to Netflix users as the voice of Legoshi in Beastars. In the football/soccer anime Ao Ashi, he also provides the voice of Tatuya Fukuda. Takanori Hoshiino played Oscar. Takanori Hoshiino voices both Tsukuyo in Gintama and Van in Gun x Sword.
What We Can Expect From The Upcoming Exception Series.
Director Yuzo Sato, whose previous thriller anime successes include One Outs, Kaiji, and Akagi, is behind the camera for Exception. Expectations for the next Netflix series are obviously very high. According to Netflix, the “all-star staff” also includes character designer Yoshitaka Amano, who created iconic and influential characters like Gatchaman, Tekkaman: The Space Knight, Hutch the Honeybee, and Casshan; writer Hirotaka Adachi (aka Otsuichi), who is known for his works in horror fiction and wrote the story for Exception; and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, who has won an Oscar.
