Ellie Goulding and her husband, Caspar Jopling, have announced their separation following four years of marriage. The “Lights” hitmaker took to her Instagram Story to address the matter.
The pop star stated, “In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago.” She emphasized their commitment to maintaining a close friendship and co-parenting their 2-year-old son Arthur.
Caspar also affirmed that the decision to separate had been made some time ago, stating, “Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time.” He emphasized their efforts to maintain privacy regarding the matter. The couple exchanged vows in England in 2019, following a year-long engagement.
Jopling, a 32-year-old art dealer, echoed similar sentiments on his Instagram Story, expressing, “Ellie and I made the decision to separate some time ago.” Caspar stated, “Ellie and I remain the closest of friends and, most importantly, ‘co-parents’ to the best kiddo in the world, Arthur. This is the last I want to say on this – and please ask that you respect mine and Ellie’s privacy.”
Caspar stressed the importance of privacy and mutual respect, especially concerning their family. Reports suggest that the couple began living separately at the start of 2023. Despite the breakup, both parties remain focused on their son’s well-being and maintaining an amicable relationship.
