Japanese rock band ELLEGARDEN has surprise-released its new single, “Everything I Need,” marking the group’s first new music since “Carmine,” which served as the 28th opening theme for ONE PIECE. The new track arrived digitally on October 13, 2026, following its live debut at Zepp Fukuoka in Japan.
The surprise release coincided with the opening night of the band’s BAD FOR EDUCATION TOUR II, its first headlining tour in approximately three years. ELLEGARDEN also revealed a new artist photograph to accompany the single’s release.
“Everything I Need” follows “Carmine,” released in 2025 as the band’s first song written specifically for an anime. Its connection to ONE PIECE introduced ELLEGARDEN’s music to anime audiences while adding another milestone to the group’s long-running career in Japanese rock.
Fans can now listen to the new single through the band’s official digital release link. The tour will continue across Japan and South Korea before concluding with two performances at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO in December.
ELLEGARDEN’S NEW SINGLE AND BAD FOR EDUCATION TOUR II DETAILS
ELLEGARDEN premiered “Everything I Need” live at Zepp Fukuoka on October 13 before making it available digitally at 9 PM Japan Standard Time that evening.
The BAD FOR EDUCATION TOUR II takes its name from the band’s 2004 tour. The 14-show schedule covers seven cities across Japan and South Korea, culminating in performances at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO on December 8 and 9. These shows will mark the band’s first performances at the venue.
The single credits Hyuga Kashiwai of Bigfish as the mixing engineer, while ZETTON handled mastering.

ELLEGARDEN’S JOURNEY FROM HIATUS TO ONE PIECE
Formed in 1998, ELLEGARDEN is a four-member Japanese rock band featuring vocalist and guitarist Takeshi Hosomi, guitarist Shinichi Ubukata, bassist Yuichi Takada, and drummer Hirotaka Takahashi.
The band built its following through energetic live performances, record-store support, and word of mouth. Its independent approach eventually helped it reach the top of Japan’s Oricon charts.
In 2008, ELLEGARDEN announced a hiatus at the height of its popularity. The group returned in 2018 with the THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN tour, attracting significant attention from longtime fans. It subsequently recorded The End of Yesterday, its first studio album in 16 years, released in December 2022.
In 2023, the band returned to ZOZO Marine Stadium for a concert that sold out on the day tickets went on sale. Its international reach continued in 2025 with the Sonic Bridges Tour alongside British rock band FEEDER, with performances across Japan, Taiwan, and Europe.
That same year, ELLEGARDEN released “Carmine” for ONE PIECE. Now, “Everything I Need” begins the band’s next musical chapter as its latest tour brings new performances to audiences across Asia.
