This series was produced by Alea Media, credited with doing previous work for Netflix like Unauthorized Living and for HBO with dramas like Patria and Air Kisses for Disney+. Across eight episodes, El Silencio —or Muted, for English viewers— will take us in a deep psychological thrill as the authorities and the accused try to solve a balcony murder that took them by surprise and the life of an innocent girl that got caught in the middle will be at stake.
What Is El Silencio About?
El Silencio is Aitor Gabilondo’s latest psychological thriller starring Manu Ríos (you might remember him as Patrick from Elite), Arón Piper (Ander Muñoz from Elite), Aitor Luna, and Almudena Amor, as we are embarked on a mysterious balcony murder that put a man in jail for a long time, and his vow of silence following that death.
The man was put into jail, did his time, and went through the trail without speaking a single word. After he’s put on probation, he continues to be silent, but when a girl enters his life, he begins dating her, and things seem to move on; there is a mysterious turn of events that will forever change their lives in an eight-episode series that seems perfect for a weekend binge-watch.
El Silencio Trailer Breakdown
We begin the trailer with a woman driving a bike at night through a lonely street. She becomes startled as a body drops from a building and crashes into the roof of a car. Then we learn that a man was tried and convicted, but he has remained silent for years after the death of his parents. When he was released in 2022, he was put on an ankle monitor, and the authorities were tracking his every move with cameras and remote watching.
But the man continues to remain silent. The authorities are suspicious, and when the man meets a girl and starts seeing her, the authorities’ suspicion grows even bigger, so they contact her to see if she knows anything, and then a series of events begin to unravel, paving the way for what’s ahead for the series.
