The chapter opens up with Reid recounting an incident from 1000 years ago, an incident that gave Reid the title of “The Hero” and made his name known far and wide. The Altein empire gets attacked by a Catastrophically Large Armored Dragon, and all hope seems to be lost as not even the most lethal weapons of the empire have managed to put even a scratch on these foes.

Even the mages lose their spirits when the Dragons don’t get affected by any kind of magic. The Soldiers start to flee the area to await their impending doom, but amid all the chaos, one young man walks straight toward the Dragon without even a flicker of fear. The Soldiers try to stop this Young Man as they believe it’s suicide to even think of fighting such a dangerous foe alone.
The Young Man doesn’t listen to the soldiers, so they all run away, leaving him behind. This Young Man is none other than Reid, and with a flick of his sword, he defeats these enormous foes and saves both the Altein and Vegalta empires. After this incident, Reid earned his title of “The Hero”.
Back to the present, Reid is once again faced with the armored dragon, but this time, he is just an ordinary high schooler. Reid explains to his friends how dangerous the armored dragon is so that they can defend themselves better. As expected, Reid’s friends get shocked as they wonder how Reid knew about such a rare beast.
Faced with such a fierce foe, Reid’s friends decide to ignore the little things for now and focus on survival. Reid says that they can’t wait for the academy’s help or Elria’s arrival because it would be too late by the time they arrive. He then orders Wiesel and Millis to create a barrier and heal the injured. Millis accepts the order and cheers Reid.
Reid steps out of the cage and punches the dragon with full force. Reid’s punch doesn’t hurt the dragon, but it still throws it away. Reid commends the dragon for withstanding his attack, but the dragon is still nowhere near the level of the sage.
Reid sends the dragon flying once again, but it keeps getting up. Reid gets worried because he can’t go all out, or he might put his friends in harm’s way. Luckily, Elria arrives just in time to offer a helping hand. Elria says that the Academy is short-handed, and so they have removed her limiters for the time being.
Reid feels at ease now that Elria has arrived. He asks Elria to transport the other students somewhere safe. Elria transports the whole cave, which amazes Reid, but it’s still nothing compared to Reid’s feats. Of course, Elria’s teacher isn’t too happy with Elria sending a whole cave inside the school, but they still manage somehow.
Elria confirms the condition of the Students with her teacher, and then she asks Reid if they should go all out now. Reid says that he’s already using his full force, but Elria argues that he still doesn’t have a sword. Elria creates a sword using her magic and gives it to Reid as a birthday present.
Reid laughs at Elria, which embarrasses her. She says that she thought a sword would make Reid happy. Reid replies that happiness won’t be enough to justify this gift. Reid thanks Elria for the gift, and then he shows her his serious power. Reid swings the sword with full force and tears the ground apart to a huge distance.
