MIRAE, the boy group under DSP Media, has decided to disband after three years since their debut. The announcement came on July 9 KST, following extensive discussions among the members.
Leader Lee Junhyuk shared a handwritten letter on social media, expressing his gratitude to their fan club NOW. He wrote, “I learned a lot during my time with MIRAE and am grateful for the unforgettable moments we created together,” capturing the bittersweet nature of the group’s decision.
Son Dongpyo, who will continue under DSP Media for solo activities, reflected on the challenges they faced together, stating, “There were many moments when I felt broken and uncertain, but we were always together, learning how to stand back up.”
MIRAE debuted in March 2021 with their EP ‘KILLA,’ marking DSP Media’s return to boy group debuts after a four-year hiatus since KARD. Comprising members from survival shows like ‘Produce X 101’ and ‘Under Nineteen,’ MIRAE aimed to follow in the footsteps of DSP’s legendary groups.
Their final domestic release, ‘Boys Will Be Boys,’ dropped in July last year, showcasing their musical growth and dedication to their fans. As they part ways, fans, and industry watchers remember MIRAE’s contributions to the K-pop scene and wish the members success in their future endeavors.
