The famous Canadian rapper Drake has surprised his fans by dropping his brand new album. The title of this album is “Honestly, Nevermind.” It’s a follow-up to his last masterpiece, Certified Lover Boy. Drake teased his fans about the album by posting the album’s cover on Instagram. The album’s title is the sole thing on the cover, and it’s written in a diamond-colored font. Let’s dive into the world of rap and learn more about Drake’s new album.
This album’s 7th studio album is out now and is available on many platforms, including Spotify and YouTube. The singer dropped his album on Thursday, August 17th, IST. For his admirers, who like Drake for his charisma and sense of style, this is a huge delight. His album is already gaining popularity among listeners.
Drake’s New Album Release date
The rapper shared on Instagram the news of his new album on June 16th. The caption for the post simply read, “7th studio album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ available at midnight. It featured a picture of the album cover. He posted again after that one, this time with the tracklist visible. On his brand-new Table for One SiriusXM Sound 42 show early on Friday morning, Drake played music from the new album. He also published the “Falling Back” music video not long after the album’s release.
The 35-year-old rapper signed a “Lebron-sized” contract with his longstanding label, Universal Music Group, a few weeks before the unexpected album announcement. Drake reportedly agreed to a significant record contract with UMG’s Sir Lucian Grainge that spans recordings, publishing, merchandise, and visual media projects, which led Drake to decide to re-sign with the label. According to industry experts, the deal is worth about $400 million or more, although the actual amount is not yet confirmed.
What’s this album has to offer?
This new album consists of a total of 14 songs. This album is the work of many collaborators, like “40” Shebib, Noel Cadastre, Black Coffee, and Oliver El-Khatib. Not to mention the well-known rapper Drake. For those who don’t know, Oliver El-Khatib is also Drake’s manager. Black Coffee is also the winner of the Grammy Award for 2022. The only credited featured artist on the album is 21 Savage, who appears on the final song, “Jimmy Cooks.” The record also honors the deceased, Virgil Abloh. Abloh’s name is listed as a dance album on Apple Music.
Drake’s approach was comparable to Beyonce Knowles’ use of social media to announce the arrival of new albums. The singer revealed the teaser for her new album, “Renaissance,” which is scheduled for release on July 29th, 2022, on social media. All of the teasers are distributed by members of Beyonce’s inner circle. This also played a role in contributing to the social media storms. Regarding Drake, the Grammy Awards’ omission of his song “Certified Loverboy” caused a great uproar. Despite that, it was able to bag “Best Rap Performance” and “Best Rap Album” awards for the album.
Who all are featuring in Drake’s new album?
Despite the lack of information (or forewarning), Kanye West quickly liked the post, leaving hip-hop fans in suspense over who the album would contain. At his “Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert” in December of last year, Ye also invited Drake to perform with him.
This new album will be a continuation of his last album, Certified Lover Boy. His most recent hit singles, including “Way 2 Sexy” with Future and Young Thug, “Fair Trade” with Travis Scott, “Girls Want Girls” with Lil Baby, and “Knife Talk” with 21 Savage and Project, are included on the 21-track album. He also worked with JAY-Z, Giveon, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi, Lil Durk, Ty Dolla $ign, and Tems on other songs.
