Russel Raymond is an aristocrat and also the protagonist of this story, The Dragon-devouring Mage. The story is based in the Capital City, Camelot. There is this magic tower where all the guardians of the Kingdom are.
Once upon a time, Russel Raymond also worked hard to enter and work at the magic tower to prevent his family’s fall. After Russel Raymond’s father passed away in the war against the Empire, his family had to run away from the castle.
Russel Raymond had to get into the magic tower to regain their territory, but it was an impossible dream. Russel Raymond was expelled from the academy before he even got to apply to the magic tower.
The reason for Russel Raymond’s expulsion was that he was born with thin and weak mana veins. He could not take in more than a certain amount of mana, but he also can not let any out. It was the biggest punishment a mage could receive.
Anyway, by random chance, during Russel Raymond’s career as a mercenary, he did manage to get to 2nd circle, but he was still a third-rate mage. Just because he believed that beggars could not be choosers, Russel Raymond decided to lie low and then take his revenge. Will he be successful?
Previously on Dragon-Devouring Mage Chapter 30: Recap
In the previous chapter of Dragon-Devouring Mage, that is, Chapter 30, we saw that Russel Raymond could not believe that they gave him two highest-grade potions. They were too expensive for him to even look at in his previous life.
Russel Raymond then gets off and decides to visit the Hall of Illusions at the magic tower. It was also called the Louvrium Museum. This was also the place where the time travel had begun. Russel Raymond has been thinking about why such a miracle happened to him all this time.
Just as Russel Raymond is reminiscing his past, a notification pops up. He is given the mission to secure the heart of the Dragon folk, which is being stored in the Endymion Museum in the royal city. The reward would be three intermediate-grade mana stones.
Well, the system was surely generous with the missions. First, securing the heart of the Dragon folk meant to make a great contribution to warrant the granting of a commodity belonging to the Royal family. It was difficult, but not impossible, at least not for Russel Raymond.
Russel Raymond then receives another mission. This mission is to draw on the power of a dragon at his will. Draconification is the sensation of a boost in magic in moments of crisis! Russel Raymond could not believe who he was turning into. His eyes began to glow!
Seems like the power must have manifested during the fire trial. Only if he gets to control his mana will he be able to increase the force by adding heat to draconification. Looks like the upcoming chapters are going to be filled with action!
