They say reading is a good hobby one must indulge in. Reading manga is, thus, considered to be good. Recently, many authors have been coming up with their own stories through their illustrations. These stories have a way of captivating their audience into wanting more of what they are putting out. If the story comes packed with a lot of mysteries and suspense, then even better. The manga Doron Dororon has managed to pull out something like this recently. Being a part of the supernatural and dark fantasy genre, the manga has gained a lot of readers in a short period of time.
Doron Dororon is a manga published in the Weekly Shonen Jump Anthology Magazine. The story was written as well as illustrated by the mangaka Oosuka Gen. Doron Dororon was first published on November 29th in the year 2021. All 19 chapters have been put under Volume 1 so far. Oosuka Gen has had other works like Golem Hearts published in the Weekly Jump Magazine before. Doron Dororon is a manga which is worthy of its own anime. Fans have been anticipating more chapters of this interesting manga.
Synopsis
As mentioned above, the world that Doron Dororon introduces us to is a dark fantasy world. In this world, along with humans, there exist monsters. These monsters are called Mononoke. They come in different shapes and sizes. As expected, these monsters also possess powers that vary from each other. Mononokes are also known to eat human beings, an issue that makes up the major conflict in the series.
However, these monsters can be defeated by other mononokes or by the supernatural energies some humans beings possess. Thus, in order to take them down, a special group called “Izanagi Force” was created. This group consists of skilled swordsmen who are responsible for maintaining the peace in society by killing these mononokes.
The main protagonist of the series, Sasaki Dora, dreams of being the best swordsman to join the Izanagi Group. He wishes to do so to avenge the death of his mother. Unfortunately, he cannot join the squad as he doesn’t possess any supernatural energy. Things take a turn when he comes across Kusanagi, who wishes to live in a peaceful world. The most interesting part about this whole encounter is that Kusanagi is a mononoke. Together, they decide to fight against other mononokes who are dangerous to society.

Story Arcs
Doron Dororon, although having 1 volume consisting of 19+ chapters, has introduced us to three-story arcs so far. The first five chapters make up the Introduction Arc. As the name suggests, it introduces us to the setting of this dark fantasy world and how it functions. It also introduces us to most of the main characters and gives us a glimpse of the main conflicts in the story. The second arc is called the Hanya Gyuuki Arc. This arc consists of chapters six to eleven. In this arc, we see Dora and Kusanagi getting along well with each other as they save people. However, after stopping the Koma Nezumi’s sacrifice, they summon the mononoke Hanya Gyuuki. Hanya Gyuuki is a giant mononoke who has killed several people, including Dora’s mother.
Towards the end of the arc, Dora manages to cut the mononoke with the help of his friends. Not only this, but he asks his mother to watch over him and his friends from above. The third and ongoing arc of the manga is called the Humanoid Mononoke Attack arc. This arc consists of chapters from 12 onwards. We are introduced to new characters and new conflicts in the arc. Kusanagi and Dora remain to continue to fight together while protecting the people around them. Volume 1 of the manga is expected to end soon, thus, fans will be getting more twists and turns as the story progresses with its second volume.
Doron Dororon Chapter 20 Release Date
The next chapter of Doron Dororon, which is chapter 20, will be released on Sunday, the 24th of April 2022. The manga puts out chapters every Sunday.
