The final two episodes of Domina Season 2 are almost here, and things couldn’t get any more complex in the Roman Empire with the war in the north, plotting and conspiracies in Rome, Agrippa’s death, and Livia moving the chessboard in her favor. Now, the stage is set for a climactic ending in the next-to-last season finale of Domina.
Domina is an MGM+ period drama piece about life on the throne of the Roman Emperor. We get to see how politics works, how the social system mobilizes those willing to live under it, and how human nature and the quest for power ensues. Domina Season 2 Episode 6 Recap
It’s been quite the troubled times in the Roman Empire, with Augustus going to war alongside Tiberius and Drusus and trying to come up with a plan to beat the forces in Northern Europe. For one part, Drusus feels a lot of honor as he was chosen for this task. Meanwhile, Tiberius thinks it’s some sort of a scheme because he thinks their stepdad wants them to drop the ball and somehow die a horrible death.
Now, we have to talk about Agrippa’s death, for Agrippa and Julia are having a baby. Julia goes into child labor, and Agrippa dies of some condition that isn’t revealed to us. I think that’s about the most calm and quiet way you can die in this series, but Agrippa secured the future for those surviving him. As for family matters, Julia is Augustus only daughter, and that in Rome comes with lots of bonuses, but Agrippa left a will that Livia changed to align it with Augustus’s —also changed— will.
Julia is young; she now has kids and has the perks of being a daughter to Augustus. Still, she mourns Agrippa’s death. Now, the women will have to comply with what the men say in the future, and if there’s a divorce, they’ll have to wait until some other man is willing to marry them.
Domitius comes to realize that Livia is a problem, and he needs people around his cause. Since Livia was plotting and got Octavia on her side, Domitius must bring Vilbia’s brother onto his side of the board.
Domina Season 2 Episodes 7 & 8 Spoilers
Domitius is in the line to marry Julia, but with the will changed, there’s a plotline that the upcoming episodes will need to clarify. Also, Augustus drive to go to war will be one of the culminating plotlines of this exciting second season. Moreover, Tiberius might be forced to follow suit and agree to Augustus’ command and marry Julia.
