Doctor Jin finds a wrecked carriage with dead and injured people scattered around him. Jin wakes up and after seeing a few alive people, he begins treating them. Jin even makes a temporary shelter for the injured and soon, a rescue party arrives. To Jin’s surprise, the man he saved was actually the future Demon King who is now indebted to Jin. The Demon King even asks Jin to call him “hyung” from now. How will this new life pan out for Jin?

Previously in the manhwa, Doctor Jin was stuck on the Jusan island in his search for the Heavenly Lightening Hawk but it was proving to be difficult since Jin wasn’t able to acquire a boat for expedition. Everyone refused to lend him a boat and it was even harder to buy one. Jin was stumped about this situation when he sees a few women who looked like monks head his way.

The women introduced themselves as the monks from Butamon, a temple which only allowed women to come in. One of them named Ahn tells Jin that they are thankful to have found him in Jusan since they need his help. Apparently, a mysterious illness has taken over the people in the village and no one has been able to cure it. Jin agrees to go and leaves with the monks to see the patients.

Jin meets with the leader of Butamon who directs him to the patients. Jin sees that the people are in a terrible condition and concludes that everyone has been infected by Cholera. Jin tells the monks to shut down the well in Butamon and quarantine everyone who has drank water from the well since the well has been contaminated. Jin quickly gets to work, tryin to make IV fluid to administer it orally.

Slowly, more and more patients come in but the condition of critical patients stabilizes. Jin makes a bold request and asks the leader of Butamon to shut down Butamon and not allow any visitors in for the next year or two to eradicate the disease. The leaders agree to do so for the sake of people. The leader then asks Jin why he was in Jusan in the first place and Jin begins to tell her everything.
