Destined is also known as Chang Feng Du, which roughly translates to “crossing the long wind,” and is a live-action adaptation of the web novel written by Mo Shu Bai under the same name. The Chinese drama revolves around Yu Ru, the daughter of a cloth merchant who is married to Gu Jiu Si, who’s infamous for his notorious acts. However, as the two of them get closer, Yu Ru realizes there’s more to Jiu Si’s personality, and he’s not what everyone thinks of him to be.
The two of them, however, as their love grows, face more problems as war strikes. They’re forced to fight and protect their beloved people and work on their relationship hand in hand. Destined Episode 28 Recap (Spoilers!)
Destined Episode 28 begins with the victory over Wangdu, and Jiu Si, Zhou, and Qin was successfully able to defend their city from the attack of the enemies. After the successful win, Jiu Si and Zhou share a heartfelt talk, where Zhou expresses his gratitude towards him, and thanks him for protecting his beloved city. In return, Jiu Si tells him how the place is not only Zhou’s hometown, but is now a second home for him and Yu Ru.
The following day, great news came forward, that Jiu Si would be transferring to the Eastern Capital, and Qin had finally earned the title of the General. Zhou and Qin had been childhood friends, and Jiu Si did ask if they were to be together, but Zhou brushed it off, saying they were like siblings. Jiu Si told him how he and Yu Ru were the same, but eventually fell in love and got married.
To wish Jiu Si a safe journey, the people of Wangdu all come and gather around and thank him for his service. They all are grateful to Jiu Si for protecting and defending their homes. Seeing them, Jiu Si says it was all a team effort, and he would never let the people of Wangdu down. He then goes with his family to the Eastern Capital and is appointed the Deputy Minister of Revenue.
Yu Ru, too, takes the initiative of beginning her business in the Eastern Capital and not falling short of her husband. Later, Jiu Si’s mother expresses her concern for his uncle Ningning, who was held captive in the Imperial prison. Jiu Si assured her that he would definitely get more information on his uncle’s whereabouts and conditions, and set him free.
His mother was delighted, yet told him to be wary as he was still new to the place and had to keep up his reputation in the form of the majesty. In Destined Episode 28, Zhou, who had been facing troubles with his father, the General, also reconnected with him by the end of the episode, as his father expressed his guilt for not protecting Wangdu properly.
He told Zhou he was proud of him, and the episode ended with the General sending all his soldiers home to spend time with their families, and Zhou spotted Qin amongst the crowd, smiling as he saw her.
