Demon Slayer season 4 has progressed, and the second episode has focused significantly on characters like Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho. While these episodes may not be as action-packed as some of the earlier story arcs, they remain enjoyable due to their emphasis on character development.
One character who has been highlighted more recently is Kanao Tsuyuri. Although she has not been the central focus and was previously sidelined in the anime, this episode hinted at her potential and showcased her abilities compared to other demon hunters.
Demon Slayer’s Strongest Official Tsugoku Revealed
Kanao is one of the select few who is a Tsukugo, a term used for students personally chosen and trained by a Hashira. Tanjiro could technically be considered one as well, as he trained under Giyu Tomioka and uses the same Breathing Technique. However, the recent episode revealed that Kanao might be superior, perhaps even better than Tanjiro.
Kanao Tsuyuri stands out among the recruits who passed the Final Selection, including Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Genya, who are some of the strongest demon hunters. Despite the formidable skills of these characters, Kanao’s superiority can be confirmed through several observations.
While tanjiro is still recovering, kanao had already made it to sanemi's training?!?? This girl is a beast 😭 pic.twitter.com/djYEciTzct

Firstly, during the Final Selection, while Kanao’s battles were not shown, it was evident that she emerged without any visible injuries. Her uniform remained clean, and she had no bruises, indicating that she dispatched every demon she encountered with ease. This contrasted with the other recruits who sustained injuries.
Secondly, her progression in the Hashira Training routine showcased her exceptional abilities. In the second episode of season 4, Kanao had already advanced to the second-last stage of the training while Tanjiro was still resting.
She remained composed and unfazed, even when speaking with Shinobu Kocho. The training consisted of six stages, and Kanao efficiently moved through them, preparing to train with Sanemi Shinazugawa after her conversation with her master.
Additionally, the season 4 opening sequence depicted Kanao sprinting ahead of other demon hunters like Zenitsu and Genya, with Inosuke struggling to keep up. This visual representation reinforced her superior speed and agility. In the manga, it is implied that Tanjiro took longer to reach the fifth stage of the training compared to Kanao.
While Tanjiro evolves into one of the strongest non-Hashira demon hunters, Kanao currently has an edge over her peers. Her outstanding physical and combat abilities, as demonstrated through various instances in the series, make her one of the best, if not the best, recruits in the Demon Slayer Corps at this time.
