The official Twitter account for the anime version of the manga Demon Lord, Retry! by Kurone Kanzaki and Amaru Minotake announced on Friday that the show will be on TV this year. They also shared a new picture.
The Twitter account also shared the team and actors for the sequel. Kazuomi Koga, who directed episodes for Demon Lord, Retry!, is directing the anime at Gekko.
Katsuhiko Takayama, known for works like Aldnoah.Zero and Protocol: Rain, is managing the series scripts, while Minori Homura, from Isekai Onsen Paradise, is in charge of character designs. The music is being composed by the creator group SUPA LOVE.
The anime features a mostly different cast from the previous series, with Kenjiro Tsuda reprising his role as Hakuto Kunai. Momo Asakura takes on the character Aku, replacing Kanon Takao.

Azumi Waki voices Akane Fujisaki, a character yet to be voiced. Iori Noguchi replaces Akari Kitō as Eagle. Aina Suzuki replaces Kaori Ishihara as Luna Elegant. Wataru Komada takes over the role of Isami Tahara from Tomokazu Seki.
Minori Suzuki voices Mink, succeeding Chiyo Ousaki. Mirai Tachibana voices Organ, replacing M.A.O. Kentarō Kumagai takes on the role of Zero Kirisame, previously voiced by Showtaro Morikubo.
The manga is a continuation of Kurone Kanzaki’s Demon Lord, Retry! (Mao-sama, Retry!) light novel series. Minotake released the Demon Lord, Retry! R manga on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster website and app in March 2020.
The first TV anime adaptation of the light novel series came out in July 2019. Funimation streamed the series as it aired. Kanzaki originally published the story on the “Shosetsuka ni Naro” (Let’s Become Novelists) and Hameln websites from October to December 2016.
Starting in June 2017, Futabasha began publishing the story in light novel volumes with illustrations by Kōji Ogata. Later on, Futabasha reprinted the novels under its M Novels label with new illustrations by illustrator and animator Makoto Iino.
Amaru Minotake started a manga version of the story in October 2017 on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action site. The last and fifth volume was released in Japan in December 2019.
