Nintendo Switch owners who prefer physical game collections will soon be able to add Dementium: The Ward to their shelves. The cult survival horror title is officially getting a physical Nintendo Switch release, with boxed copies scheduled to launch on July 23, 2026. Pre-orders have already opened, giving fans another way to experience the horror classic after its digital Switch debut in 2023.
The physical edition will initially be released in Europe. However, since the Nintendo Switch is region-free, players from other regions, including North America, can import and play the cartridge without compatibility issues.
The physical release is being handled by Clear River Games, with retailers also confirming the July 23 launch date for Europe.

Originally developed by Renegade Kid for the Nintendo DS in 2007, Dementium: The Ward later received the Dementium Remastered version on Nintendo 3DS before Atooi rebuilt the game for Nintendo Switch in 2023 with enhanced visuals, smoother controls, and improved performance.
Dementium: The Ward places players inside a deserted hospital with no memories of how they arrived. As they explore its dark corridors, they must battle grotesque creatures, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the mystery behind the terrifying nightmare while searching for a way to escape.
The Switch version modernized the original handheld horror experience while preserving its tense first-person survival gameplay. With the long-awaited physical edition now on the way, collectors and horror fans who missed the digital release will soon have another opportunity to own the game in cartridge form.
