Debut Or Die Chapter 51 opens up with a rather interesting note as Moondae thinks of how Ryu Gunwoo(Moondae’s past self) doesn’t exist in this world anymore. The Protagonist reached this conclusion after he searched every single place for the existence of Ryu Gunwoo after he woke up in the body of Park Moondae.
Recap
The strange part about all this is that Ryu Gunwoo doesn’t exist, but the pictures he took are still present on the internet. Moondae suddenly remembers that he took a fan cam of Youngrin completing her performance in the rain, which got a lot of popularity.
Moondae quickly searches the internet for the Fancam, but he finds that the original video has been deleted, but someone reposted it. This further solidifies the fact that Ryu Gunwoo may not exist, but all his pictures and videos exist in this world. These findings make Moondae wonder if he’s being punished because he used to sell Idol Cams and photos.
Moondae wonders about the true reason for the existence of the status window, but he decides to leave it for the time being because he has to do an Idol Inc. Filming. The Announcement for 3rd Rankings gets made, but this time, there’s a catch. Moondae says that Idol Inc. It would include a provocative scenario called “The Casting Call” now.
The Casting call is a place where agencies get to cast any participant that catches their eye. The catch here is that if a participant decides to choose the agency, then they will have to leave the show. This condition is usually the reason why Higher-ranking participants reject the casting offers, but Moondae can make good use of it.
The Host announces that the method that will be used for the next program is going to be a personality test. During the personality test, the answers given by the participants will be matched with a K Pop concept that suits that particular participant. Moondae thinks that he may have gotten ahead of himself as this event feels like it’s just for entertainment purposes.
Moondae arrives at the designated room and begins taking the questionnaire. He soon realizes that most of the questions in this are not even related to K-Pop, but he still answers them diligently. Moondae also tries to stay as neutral as possible while answering the questions because he needs to be wary of the outcome.
Moondae soon reaches the last question, and it turns out that he was baited into accepting a casting call. The last question comes with only a 3-second timer, and so Moondae fails to even reject it. As soon as the timer runs out, a mysterious figure enters the room and greets Moondae.
Moondae soon recognizes the face of this mysterious person as he took a lot of pictures of him. He wonders how such an influential and famous person got involved in this program. Moondae decides to ignore his suspicions and just focus on what he says from now on because even a single slip-up will ruin his image on social media.
The Mysterious Man introduces himself as Cheongryeo, The Leader of VTIC. Moondae also introduces himself, but he doesn’t express much emotion because he’s still shocked. Moondae’s calm composure makes Cheongryeo impressed, but Moondae argues that he was just shocked.
Cheongryeo laughs at Moondae’s response because he doesn’t believe that Moondae was just shocked. Moondae also realizes that his answer is perceived as a joke. Cheongryeo then gets serious and tells Moondae the reason behind his visit. Cheongryeo explains that he is meeting Moondae because he wants to give him a casting call from Leti, The Agency Behind VTIC.
