De Twaalf: A Quick Sneak Peek Of This Dutch Series
De Twaalf is a thriller-based drama that won a screenwriting award at Cannes 2019. That overall vibe of the courtroom or that sense of tension when the judge is about to release their statement, those nerve-spiking moments, intrigued the viewers throughout the entire show.
The story revolves around Frie Palmers, a headmistress in a school. We all know the importance and value a teacher holds in our lives. However, this series depicts something different and unusual. The school principal, Frie, is charged with murdering her own best friend and even her daughter.
Twelve jury members are hired to give their unbiased decision based on the shreds of evidence present to them. In short, these twelve members can change the fate of the principal, whether she is the reason behind the murder or she is guilty free.
What makes this show more interesting is not only do we get to know about the opinions of each jury member regarding the case, but this show also takes us on a ride of showing their day-to-day lives, what problems they go through, and how their daily activities and emotions influence their verdict/decisions which also teaches us a good lesson that we should take rational decisions that should not be based on our personal feelings.
It also portrays what a typical court hearing looks and feels like and takes us on a journey from initial court hearing days to releasing the statement.
After a series of investigations and discussions, it was concluded that Frie was not the one who murdered her daughter and that there was someone else behind the murder who had been hiding under the shade for so long.
However, she was proven guilty by the jurors with a total of seven people in favor that she caused the murder of her best friend and received imprisonment for 30 years. However, fans are analyzing that there still might be a change in-game where she might not be the murderer.
Jurors also feel Frie is hiding something important that could help in the entire trial proceeding and are suspicious of her for her actions.
De Twaalf Season ended on a suspense note while there are still a lot of theories and mysteries to uncover. Well, all the answers to the remaining questions can be solved in Season 2 only.
