When she sang “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas, she effortlessly switched between strong, powerful singing and gentler tones. For her last song, she performed “Reflection” from Mulan and held a breathtaking sustained note.

During her tour named “Darci Lynne and Friends: Fresh Out of the Box Tour,” Lynne spoke to The Oklahoman, a newspaper in her hometown of Oklahoma City. She discussed the significant progress she has made since winning season 12 of America’s Got Talent.
Darci Lynne shared that when she went to AGT, her main goal was to inspire others to give ventriloquism a try because it is an ancient art. She really wanted people to give it a shot, and she has actually achieved that goal because these tours and the kids attending them are living proof of that.
She shared with the newspaper that she often sees kids bringing their puppets to the shows. Some of them even come back to meet and greet, and she gets to meet them and their puppets. They tell her that she inspired them to try ventriloquism, and that is incredibly rewarding to witness.

Darci Lynne, who won season 12 of America’s Got Talent, has demonstrated that she can impress people with her singing abilities when she is not performing with her puppets.
Darci Lynne, the singer and ventriloquist, shared a video on her official Instagram page on August 11. In this video, she performed a lovely rendition of Billie Eilish’s song “What Was I Made For? She accompanied herself on the piano, using gentle chords, and sang with a captivating and airy vocal style, delivering the introspective lyrics with deep emotion.
Even though the song had somewhat melancholic tones, Darci Lynne concluded her performance by turning to the camera with a slight smile, leaving a positive impression.
Lynne captioned her post writing, “I’ll say it again, this is a beautifully written song”.
The song “What Was I Made For?” was specifically for the Barbie movie’s soundtrack and was released in July 2023. It reached the 14th position on the Billboard charts. In an interview with Billboard, Billie Eilish described how the song’s lyrics not only narrate Baribie’s character’s journey in the movie but also reflect her own life experiences.
Billie Eilish shared that she drew inspiration from the film, the characters, and her own imaginative perspective on how that character might feel, which guided her songwriting. She clarified that while her own experiences influenced the lyrics, she took an outsider’s viewpoint when approaching the songwriting process.
