Rimuru Tempest’s latest adventure has a new soundtrack. As That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 continues its second cour, singer-songwriter Daoko has released the full music video for “TACTIC,” the new opening theme featured in the anime’s latest episodes since early July. The song marks a high-profile collaboration with producers Giga and TeddyLoid, adding a fresh musical identity to Rimuru’s newest chapter on Crunchyroll.
A Fresh Sound for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4
The second cour of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 introduces a noticeable change in its musical style. While the first opening theme, Eir Aoi’s “Esoragoto,” delivered an emotional rock ballad, the new opening “TACTIC” embraces Daoko’s signature blend of electronic music, hip-hop, and pop.

Released as a digital single on July 4, 2026, “TACTIC” was produced in collaboration with renowned electronic artists Giga and TeddyLoid. Daoko began teasing the collaboration on her official social media accounts before the release, giving fans a preview of the track and sharing pre-save links ahead of its launch.
The opening theme has quickly gained traction across video platforms, with fans posting reaction videos, cover performances, and edits featuring the new sequence. On Crunchyroll, “TACTIC” officially serves as the opening theme beginning with Episode 85, marking the start of the anime’s second cour.
The New Theme Matches the Story’s Changing Tone
The opening theme changes alongside a major shift in the anime’s narrative. Instead of focusing primarily on battles between monsters, the second cour explores diplomacy, political alliances, and growing tensions between neighboring nations as Rimuru works to expand his Human-Monster Co-prosperity Sphere.
Promotional videos released before the July 3 premiere showcased large-scale military movements, high-stakes political negotiations involving the Rozzo family, and action scenes featuring fan-favorite Diablo. These previews hinted at a more serious and strategic direction for the story compared to the first half of the season.
The production committee also confirmed the new ending theme during its promotional campaign in June. “Hymnal,” performed by singer and voice actress Azusa Tadokoro, replaces CiON’s “Katsubō” as the ending song for the second cour, completing the anime’s refreshed musical lineup.
Season 4 Continues Its Biggest Story Yet
Studio 8bit continues to produce That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 under director Naokatsu Tsuda, with Miho Okasaki returning as the voice of Rimuru Tempest and R.O.N once again composing the series’ soundtrack. The season premiered on April 3, 2026, and is scheduled to run for a total of five courses, making it the longest season in the franchise’s history.
New episodes continue to stream weekly on Crunchyroll, giving fans a steady flow of new content as Rimuru’s story enters one of its most politically driven arcs. The combination of large-scale conflicts, diplomacy, and character development has raised anticipation for the remainder of the season.
Beyond the television series, the franchise remains active across multiple projects in 2026. The Blu-ray release of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea is scheduled to arrive in Japan on September 25. Alongside the anime, film, and music releases, Daoko’s “TACTIC” has become one of the defining highlights of the franchise’s latest chapter.
