Cyndi Lauper, known for hits like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” is retiring from touring after announcing a farewell tour covering 23 cities in North America this fall.
While she hasn’t explained her reasons yet, she’s expected to discuss them during the promotion of her new documentary, “Let the Canary Sing,” premiering on Paramount+ Tuesday.
Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour,” her first major road trip in a decade, kicks off on October 18 in Montreal and concludes on December 5 at Chicago’s United Center.
Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” will feature arena dates including shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Oct. 30, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 1, L.A.’s Intuit Dome on Nov. 23, the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on Nov. 24, and San Francisco’s Chase Center on Nov. 26.
Additionally, she will perform a non-arena show at Detroit’s Fox Theatre on Oct. 24.
Tickets for Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” will be available for purchase, starting with an artist presale on Tuesday, followed by other presales, before the general on-sale begins on Friday at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com. Opening acts for the tour will be announced at a later date.
“Let the Canary Sing,” directed by Alison Ellwood and premiered at Tribeca last year, will start streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday.
On the same day, Cyndi Lauper will partake in a handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and attend a private local premiere of the film at the theater complex, followed by a Q&A.
Additionally, on Wednesday, she’ll discuss the documentary and the farewell tour on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
