Uncle Bill comes to take Layla from the forest of Arvis’ estate, and she comes back to her uncle, informing him that she has eaten peaches and also met a guy who is the same age as her. As she exits the place, she gazes upon the Duke and his companions, who are also getting out.
Uncle Bill also notices them and halts to talk with the Duke. He informs the Duke that Layle will be staying at Arvis for some time, and one of his companions points out to Layla as recognizing her in the forest.
According to his companion, Layla stayed behind the trees to bury the dead birds that were hunted down by the Duke. Matthias also points out that she is the ridiculous girl whom he almost shot, mistaking it for a bird.
Regardless, the Young Duke gives Uncle Bill to keep Layla under his custody. But Layla glances coldly at the Duke because he slaughtered those poor creatures. Then, we see Count Brandt’s family and Lady Herhardt spending quality time while drinking tea.
