Concerned anime enthusiasts have reported the premature leak of the first episode of the highly anticipated isekai anime, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Season 3, prior to its scheduled premiere on April 10, 2024.
According to various sources on X (formerly Twitter), Episode 1 of KonoSuba Season 3 surfaced on a major torrent site ahead of its official release. While the exact cause remains unverified, speculation suggests a possible vulnerability in Crunchyroll’s utilization of Funimation servers. One X account hinted at the issue, stating,
“Nyaa leakers supremacy. I’m going to help you a little @Crunchyroll, even if I shouldn’t. Stop using FUNI servers.”
The leak comes shortly after Crunchyroll’s announcement of its Spring 2024 anime lineup, which includes KonoSuba among over 25 anticipated titles. A survey on the major Japanese streaming service ABEMA revealed KonoSuba as the fifth most anticipated anime of the upcoming season.

After a seven-year hiatus since Season 2, KonoSuba fans eagerly await its return, now animated by Studio Drive (known for To Your Eternity Season 2) following DEEN’s work on the first two seasons. Drive’s style was previously showcased in An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, a KonoSuba spinoff focused on Megumin.
Yes, #KonoSuba is back. Yes, it hasn’t lost its touch. Yes, it’s hilarious. Yes, I’m Kazuma…I mean…. You should probably watch the movie to understand all the gags in ep1 here though. I kinda wonder how some of you are reacting to some of the things you saw otherwise! #anime pic.twitter.com/JzsGPqJqSe

While online piracy remains a significant challenge for legal streaming services, recent efforts in Japan and abroad aim to combat anime piracy. Japan’s successful prosecution of an anime piracy site and a blocking order in India signal progress in curbing unauthorized distribution.
Crunchyroll is set to stream KonoSuba Season 3, describing the series as follows: “After a traffic accident, Kazuma Sato’s disappointingly brief life was supposed to be over, but he wakes up to see a beautiful girl before him.
She claims to be a goddess, Aqua, and asks if he would like to go to another world and bring only one thing with him.
Kazuma decides to bring the goddess herself, and they are transported to a fantasy world filled with adventure, ruled by a demon king. Now Kazuma only wants to live in peace, but Aqua wants to solve many of this world’s problems, and the demon king will only turn a blind eye for so long…”
