Crimson Desert Update Adds 133 Trading Posts and Revamps the Game’s Economy

Pearl Abyss has released Crimson Desert Update 1.16.00, delivering one of the game’s largest economy-focused expansions to date.

Available now on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, the patch introduces 133 new trading posts, expands the trading system with dynamic pricing, and adds dozens of quality-of-life improvements aimed at making commerce a more rewarding part of the open-world RPG.

Trading system receives its biggest overhaul yet

The centerpiece of the update is a complete rework of the game’s trading economy. Pearl Abyss has added 133 new trading posts, including the merchant at Pailune Trading Post, which unlock as players progress through the game’s quests.

Trading profits have also been rebalanced to reward exploration. Merchants located in harder-to-reach areas now offer better prices for the same goods, while royal trading posts now pay four times more than before. In addition, prices will fluctuate based on supply and demand, meaning repeatedly selling the same trade goods in one location will reduce their value.

The update also introduces 24 new high-value trade goods and four new regular trade goods, while improving inventory management by allowing packaged trade goods to stack in larger quantities. Players can also move trade goods between wagons and horses and sell individual items instead of entire stacks.

New workshops, banking features, and quality-of-life upgrades

To support the expanded economy, Pearl Abyss has added seven wagon workshops across Pywel that function as intermediate trading hubs. These locations allow players to package and load trade goods more efficiently during long-distance trading routes.

The patch also introduces the Claim Bank Strongbox, enabling players to invest after depositing at least 10 bonds. Bonds can be exchanged for Gold Bars or spent on rare items through the newly added Bond Shop.

Navigation has also become significantly easier. A dedicated Trade tab has been added to the world map, allowing players to filter trading posts, royal trading posts, wagon workshops, and wagon routes. Players can also search for merchants selling specific goods and view market prices before traveling.

Beyond the economy changes, Update 1.16.00 fixes hundreds of gameplay issues across quests, combat, controls, graphics, localization, and stability. PC players also benefit from the implementation of AMD FSR SDK 2.3.0 and support for FSR Upscaling 4.1 on compatible Radeon GPUs.

Pearl Abyss has continued releasing frequent post-launch updates for Crimson Desert, while previously confirming that the studio is also developing substantial paid DLC alongside its ongoing free content updates.
