Few punk bands ever reach the major milestone of their 40th anniversary, but the well-known Cosmic Psychos have. They have planned a lengthy tour that includes several stops in Australia to honor this event. They have also invited ZEKE, a well-known US hardcore band, to take part in the festivities, which will further heighten the excitement.
The Cosmic Psychos have experienced a remarkable punk rock journey. With their distinctive sound, they have been promoting the spirit of Australian punk music for the past forty years. It is impossible to dispute their incredible tenacity and impact on the punk music scene.
The Cosmic Psychos have 10 studio albums under their belt and have significant ties to influential figures in the business, including producer Butch Vig and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. They also show no signs of slowing down.
The group is embarking on a tour in honor of this important milestone that kicks off just before Christmas in South Australia and Western Australia and picks up steam in January when they make their way to the East Coast.
The fact that they will be performing on stage with renowned US hardcore group ZEKE is a true shocker. Since this is ZEKE’s first trip to Australia in more than 20 years, this tour is very significant.
What’s more Cosmic Psychos are doing?
The Cosmic Psychos are holding a lavish birthday celebration in Castlemaine before starting their extended tour. From December 1 to 3, the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine will be the place to be as the Psychos have put together an amazing lineup of their favorite bands, providing a wild weekend full of music and fun. A different headliner performer will perform each night.
The Chats, a Sunshine Coast punk band, and the Cosmic Psychos’ protégés will head up a spectacular roster of Victoria’s greatest performers on Friday, December 1.
The formidable Amyl and the Sniffers will perform on Saturday, December 2, along with a sizable lineup of national and interstate artists.
At a nearby establishment called Knighty’s, the entertaining Brisbane group Dune Rats will finally bring the celebrations to a climax on Sunday, December 3.
The main event doesn’t mark the conclusion of the party. At Love Shack, there will be official after-parties with DJ sets from Magic Dirt, Thee Cha Cha Chas, and Bad Dreams. Act quickly because tickets are selling out quickly, whether you want to go for a single day or stay the entire weekend.
In fact, both the Saturday performance and the weekend passes are already totally sold out. It’s critical to avoid missing out because there are just a few tickets available for the other performances.
Cosmic Psychos are not stopping here.
The Cosmic Psychos will travel to South Australia and Western Australia after the festivities in Castlemaine to play a few performances before the Christmas break. With the influential Seattle band ZEKE as their support act, they’ll begin 2024 with an East Coast tour.
ZEKE was founded in 1993, and as a result of their relentless touring and exhilarating live performances, they have developed a solid reputation as the best live act.
ZEKE has shared the stage with a wide variety of performers, and their stage performances have earned them legendary status. These concerts have taken place in both small clubs and huge stadiums. The electric blend of early American hardcore, classic rock, and punk nihilism on ZEKE’s six albums guarantees that their performance on the tour will be a memorable one.
