Netflix has shared new images that build excitement for the final season of Cobra Kai. The pressure is building for all the characters, and the well-known motto “strike first, strike hard” now feels more relevant than ever.
In Part 2 of Season 6, the young fighters will participate in the Sekai Taikai, a competition that is very different from the All Valley Tournament they’ve been used to. Netflix will release these new episodes on November 15.
The images reveal that the upcoming episodes will take on a slightly darker tone. The competition at Sekai Taikai will push everyone, especially those from Miyagi-Do, to their absolute limits. The chance to become world champions creates enough pressure by itself.
However, the kids, along with their senseis Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), also face their own personal struggles and old rivalries. As the stakes rise, we’ll see if they can handle the pressure when November rolls around.
Kreese (Martin Kove) will continue to be a looming threat, determined to make sure Miyagi-Do is disgraced on a national level. Despite these intense challenges, the images suggest that Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Samantha (Mary Mouser), and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) are ready to take on the fight.
We also see brand-new characters: Sensei Wolf (Lewis Tan), Axel Kovacevic (Patrick Luwis), and Zara Malik (Rayna Vallandingham), who will join the action in Season 6.
We’re Not In The Valley Anymore
In an official statement, Cobra Kai co-writer Hayden Schlossberg gave fans a hint about what they can expect from Part 2 of the final season. He pointed out the significant shift in environment for the competition scenes:
“The first thing that you’re going to notice is we’re not in the Valley anymore. It’s a totally different environment. The competitive space is different from previous All Valley tournaments. There’s no crowd watching. This is a karate temple that they’re going to, where the only people in attendance are black belts or karate masters.”
Although Cobra Kai is nearing its end, the final blow won’t come until 2025. Since this season is much bigger than the ones before it, Netflix decided to divide it into three parts.
After the final episodes air in 2025, fans will have little time to reflect on the show’s end before the highly-anticipated movie Karate Kid: Legends hits theaters in late May.
Get ready: Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 will debut on November 15, only on Netflix.
