Everyone loved the movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The filmmakers, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, did an amazing job bringing the Spider-Man world to life in this animated adventure.
The movie takes Miles Morales on a journey across different realities, and it ends with a big surprise! But did you know the ending could have been much sadder?
In the final part of the movie, Miles thinks he’s finally back home. But he’s wrong! He’s actually stuck in another reality called Earth-42. There, he meets an evil version of himself called Prowler Miles.
This Miles isn’t interested in helping our Miles, and things look really bad for our hero. Back in Miles’ own world, his dad is in danger from a villain named The Spot. Miles needs to get home to save him, but he’s trapped with Prowler Miles! The movie almost ended right here, leaving everyone wondering if Miles would ever escape.
The Ending We Got
Luckily, the filmmakers decided to change the ending. They added a scene after the credits that shows Spider-Woman, aka Gwen Stacy, putting together a team of Spider-People from different realities.
This team includes Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, and even Spider-Ham! They’re all going to help Miles get back home and defeat The Spot. So even though Miles is in a tough situation, there’s still hope!
The filmmakers said they realized audiences needed a reason to feel hopeful, even though the movie ends with a cliffhanger. Seeing Gwen Stacy gather a team to help Miles gives everyone a good feeling and makes them excited for the next movie!
