Plot
Set in dystopian earth, the education system of Japan has changed. As per the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School, students are taught not only bookish knowledge but also given the freedom to understand the reality of life. This is done to bring up kids as promising adults who will be of value to the country. Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is a student of the school who does not have any friends. However, despite being extremely intelligent, he is placed in Class-D among the student deemed inferior by the system.
Things change for Kiyotaka once he meets Suzune Horikita and Kikyō Kushida from his class and makes friends with them. He starts living a normal high school life as the three spend more time together.
