Christopher Charles Cuomo, known as Chris Cuomo, is a prominent television journalist who currently works as an anchor for NewsNation in New York City. Chris was born on August 9, 1970, in New York. He has had a notable career in journalism and broadcasting.
He graduated from Yale University and received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law. Prior to his role at NewsNation, Cuomo held various positions at ABC News, including chief law and justice correspondent and co-anchor for the news program 20/20.
From 2006 to 2009, he also served as a news anchor for Good Morning America. He is also a licensed attorney in law. Cuomo gained significant recognition during his tenure at CNN, where he co-hosted the morning show New Day from 2013 until May 2018. He then moved to host his own prime-time program called Cuomo Prime Time in June 2018. His interviewing style and coverage of current events have made him a familiar face in American news media.
Beyond his professional achievements, Cuomo comes from a prominent political family. He is the younger brother of Andrew Cuomo, who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. Their father, Mario Cuomo, was the 52nd governor of New York from 1983 to 1994. This familial connection added a layer of public interest to Chris Cuomo’s career.

The feud between Chris and Don Lemon:
According to sources, former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is reportedly harboring resentment towards his ex-colleague Don Lemon and intends to block Lemon from joining NewsNation. Cuomo allegedly holds a grudge against Lemon for not reaching out to him after he was fired by CNN in 2021 amidst sexual harassment accusations.
The two were once close, with Cuomo acting as a mentor to Lemon, but their relationship has turned bitter, and they are said to no longer be speaking. Lemon was recently let go by CNN after clashes with co-workers and his controversial statements suggesting that politician Nikki Haley was past her prime. Sources claim that Cuomo is still upset that Lemon did not assist him in finding a new job and is determined to create obstacles for Lemon’s possible move to NewsNation.
In November 2021, Cuomo faced controversy when it was revealed that he had assisted in his brother’s defense against sexual harassment allegations that ultimately led to Andrew Cuomo’s resignation as governor. As a result, CNN suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely and later terminated his employment in December 2021. However, he quickly rebounded and joined Nexstar Media Group, where he now hosts a program called Cuomo for NewsNation.

CNN’s president, Jeff Zucker, later stepped down after it was discovered that he was involved in a consensual relationship with his top marketing officer. Following his termination, Cuomo filed a $125 million claim against CNN for refusing to pay the remaining $18 million on his contract.
Lemon reportedly opposed any cash settlement between CNN and Cuomo, expressing concern about the message it would send to journalists and the public. Lemon’s comments were seen as part of a “smear campaign” against Cuomo, as alleged in his lawsuit against CNN.
Cuomo’s lawsuit claims that Lemon engaged in unethical behavior by providing guidance to Jussie Smollett, who was convicted of fabricating a hate crime. The lawsuit argues that Lemon’s involvement in the ongoing investigation through text messages was a breach of ethics, but CNN took no disciplinary action against him. CNN anchor Jake Tapper accused WarnerMedia, CNN’s parent company, of throwing Zucker under the bus after he refused to meet Cuomo’s demands.
Tapper claimed that WarnerMedia forced Zucker out after Cuomo threatened to harm the network. Bitter feelings between Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon have arisen after Cuomo’s firing from CNN. It appears that Cuomo still hasn’t forgiven his former friend, Don Lemon, and shows no indication of forgiving him in the future.
