American medical drama television series Chicago Med is created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead as the third installment of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise. The series aired on NBC for the first time on November 17, 2015.
The show, Chicago Med, features the doctors and nurses from the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s emergency department as they hustle to save patients’ lives. The show sometimes features crossovers with characters from Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

Nick Gehlfuss as Dr. Will Halstead: He used to be a plastic surgeon, but at the start of the series, he becomes an ED supervising attending physician.
Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles: The chief of the psychiatry department, usually responsible for aiding the other doctors with things such as psychological nuances in medicine or handling difficult patients.
Marlyne Barrett as Maggie Lockwood: She is the ED’s charge nurse who does not hesitate to speak her mind when it comes to schooling the residents. In the fifth season, she is diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer but later receives treatment and marries former cancer patient Ben Campbell.
S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin: She is an ex-OR nurse and the Chief of Patient and Medical Services at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
Dominic Rains as Dr. Crockett Marcel: a new trauma surgeon in training at Chicago Med.
Guy Lockard plays Dr. Dylan Scott: He is a new ED pediatrician who used to be a Chicago police officer. After his lover Jo dies, the undercover cop realizes that he will never be able to move on from his past as a police officer if he stays in Chicago. He decides to leave Med and start anew elsewhere.
Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher: She is a physician from Los Angeles who used to struggle with substance abuse but is now sober. Steven Weber as Dr. Dean Archer: He is a highly experienced trauma surgeon and emergency physician. He mentored Dr. Ethan Choi while they served together in the Navy.
