Smilegate has launched a major new update for Chaos Zero Nightmare, expanding Galactic Disaster Season 4 with the second story chapter, “The Black Panther Left Uncared For.” The dark fantasy roguelike RPG update takes players aboard the luxurious ark SS Deneb, where the protagonists become involved with the notorious mercenary group Black Spica and a dangerous series of incidents.
The update also introduces two important new characters, Arabella and Licinia, alongside the first half of the Great Rift competitive mode, progression improvements, and a new season of Full-Scale Offensive. Players can also participate in several limited-time events through September 9 to earn valuable rewards, including Crystals, Prism Lenses, and other growth resources.
Developed by Super Creative and published by Smilegate, Chaos Zero Nightmare continues to expand its Galactic Disaster Season 4 storyline with new narrative content and gameplay systems.
Arabella and Licinia Join the New SS Deneb Story
Arabella, the leader of Black Spica, arrives as the game’s newest Seasonal Combatant. Described as an alluring but dangerous femme fatale, she specializes in applying Fracture, a debuff that damages enemies at the end of each turn and gradually wears them down.
Arabella will be available for a limited time through September 9. Her new Partner, Licinia, is designed to complement Fracture-focused teams by increasing her assigned Combatant’s Critical Chance whenever they inflict the debuff.
Players can also complete the new story and Season 4 Chaos to earn currency for the Supply Store. Rewards include Omega Code, a material used for Combatant Ego Manifestation, or Limit Break upgrades.
The update introduces the first half of Great Rift, Chaos Zero Nightmare’s new competitive ranking mode. Smilegate has also added automatic record saving, new Amplified Effects, and the Save Data Download System.
The new system allows players to obtain Save Data for free or through purchase, providing Equipment and Cards tailored to individual Combatants. This is designed to reduce the time required to progress and build teams.
A new Full-Scale Offensive season is also underway. The mode requires players to build three separate teams, while the new Clear Formation feature lets them examine the formations used by top-scoring players.
Kim Joo Hyung, Head of Business at Smilegate, said,
“We hope players enjoy the new Seasonal Combatant Arabella and her dangerous charm, as well as the new story in which she plays a major role.”
He added that the new systems are intended to make Great Rift and Full-Scale Offensive “more convenient to play.”
The “Primal Desire” event lets players interrogate key characters alongside Arabella to earn in-game rewards. Meanwhile, Week 2 of the Beach Café Festival continues with additional summer stories featuring the game’s Combatants.
