Chaos Zero Nightmare Names Choi Seung Hyun as New Producer

Chaos Zero Nightmare is preparing for a significant shift in its post-launch direction. Smilegate and Supercreative have announced Choi Seung Hyun as the new producer of the deck-building roguelike, with the new PD addressing players in a video about the game’s future.

Choi emphasized the importance of listening to player feedback while outlining several changes planned for Chaos Zero Nightmare. The development team intends to reduce Combatant nerfs, improve how players acquire Save Data and create more opportunities for different Combatants and decks to remain viable.

The team also revealed that upcoming seasons will last longer while receiving substantially more content. This approach is intended to prevent a single dominant meta from overshadowing the game’s wider roster and deck-building options.

Chaos Zero Nightmare Will Minimize Combatant Nerfs

Under the new direction, Combatant nerfs will generally be avoided, except when absolutely necessary, such as addressing bugs. Instead of restricting powerful strategies through monster mechanics or content limitations, balance issues will be addressed through new content.

The developers also plan to improve their internal balance verification and development processes.

Save Data acquisition is another major focus. A new Remote Extraction feature in Sortie will provide faster access to Black Mass, while Core-type reward supplies will increase.

Players will eventually have more ways to obtain Save Data through out-of-game content and events, with the goal of encouraging the experimentation that characterized the game’s early post-launch period.

Longer Seasons and More Diverse Decks Planned

The developers acknowledged that competitive content such as The Great Rift narrowed Combatant and deck choices, contributing to restrictive seasonal metas.

Going forward, Chaos Zero Nightmare will expand its content so different Combatants and decks can remain effective in their own ways. Seasons will run longer, but each will receive a substantially larger volume of content.

Smilegate and Supercreative have also confirmed an early October 1st Anniversary Showcase, followed by a detailed roadmap for the game’s new direction in December.

As an anniversary gift, players can claim 10 Signal Amplification Anchors each week for three weeks, providing 30 Anchors in total.
