Harrison Ford Joins the MCU as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross
Legendary actor Harrison Ford makes his Marvel debut as President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, replacing the late William Hurt. Brave New World gives Ross his biggest role yet in an MCU film. In this movie, Ross wants to correct past mistakes and become a better leader for his country and his daughter, Betty Ross.
However, things take a dramatic turn when Ross is unknowingly poisoned with gamma radiation by The Leader. This transforms him into the powerful and uncontrollable Red Hulk.

Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, the New Falcon
Joaquin Torres is Sam Wilson’s close friend and trusted ally. He is determined to follow in Sam’s footsteps and become the next Falcon. Though he is young and outspoken, Torres is highly skilled in the field.
Danny Ramirez plays this rising hero. He previously appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where Joaquin first met Sam and developed a strong bond with him. Ramirez has also starred in major films, including Top Gun: Maverick, where he worked alongside Tom Cruise.
Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph
Ruth Bat-Seraph is both a security advisor to President Ross and a highly trained assassin from the Red Room, known as a Black Widow. She plays a key role in Brave New World, working alongside Sam and Joaquin to take down The Leader.
Shira Haas, a Primetime Emmy nominee, plays this complex character. She is best known for her work in The Zookeeper’s Wife, a historical drama starring Jessica Chastain.
Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley
Isaiah Bradley, a secret super soldier, makes his return in Brave New World. After being exonerated at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Isaiah finds himself imprisoned once again. A successful mind-control attempt nearly forces him to assassinate President Ross, landing him back behind bars.
Despite his situation, Isaiah warns Sam not to investigate his case, showing how much he cares about Sam’s safety.
Carl Lumbly is a veteran actor with over 120 acting credits. He has delivered outstanding performances in projects like Doctor Sleep and The Fall of the House of Usher.
Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/The Leader
Tim Blake Nelson returns to the MCU as Samuel Sterns, also known as The Leader, after nearly 17 years. Fans last saw Sterns in The Incredible Hulk (2008). Since then, he has been locked away by Ross, and transformed into a superhuman with vast intelligence.
Ross originally used Sterns to help him rise to power. However, after becoming president, Ross betrayed Sterns and kept him captive. Seeking revenge, The Leader plans to destroy Ross’ reputation by sabotaging his treaty involving Adamantium extraction from a Celestial Island in the Indian Ocean.
Tim Blake Nelson has worked with some of Hollywood’s greatest filmmakers. He is best known for his role in O Brother, Where Art Thou? and has also delivered great performances in Old Henry, Lincoln, and The Thin Red Line.
Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder
Giancarlo Esposito plays Sidewinder, one of the villains in Brave New World. He is the first antagonist that Sam faces in the film. Sam intervenes in a supposed deal between the Serpents and a secret broker, who later turns out to be Samuel Sterns.
Sidewinder does not appear for much of the second half of the film, but he proves to be a tough opponent for Captain America.
Esposito is known for playing complex and menacing characters. His most famous role is Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, but he has also impressed audiences as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.
