The Vancouver Canucks are ready to bounce back after a tough loss in Game 6 against the Edmonton Oilers. The series is now tied 3-3, setting the stage for a dramatic Game 7 on Canadian holiday Victoria Day.
All on the Line in Vancouver
Vancouver struggled in Game 6, managing only 15 shots compared to Edmonton’s 27. Coach Rick Tocchet emphasized the need to forget the loss and refocus for the winner-take-all Game 7.
“Our job right now is to flush this game,” Tocchet said. “We have 48 hours to get our energy back. People would kill to be in this situation, and we have to make sure we want to be here.”
The Canucks will be playing at home in Vancouver for Game 7, where they boast a strong 4-3 record in such situations. Their opponent, the Edmonton Oilers, is also 7-4 in Game 7 matchups.
Vancouver will be without their starting goalie Thatcher Demko, who is still recovering from an injury. However, the team is confident and excited for the challenge ahead.
“We would have taken this opportunity any day,” Canucks captain Quinn Hughes said. “We’ll be excited.”
