Japanese solo developer Hikisann has launched the Steam store page for Can Love Save Me?, an upcoming visual novel that combines romance, interactive storytelling, and an angel who creates a personalized story for the player. Set inside a moonlit library, the game follows an encounter with Ai, an adult angel whose relationship with the player develops through conversations and dialogue choices.
Players can decide whether to pursue a romantic relationship with Ai, become her best friend, or take time to get to know her. These choices influence the experience they share throughout the night and the book Ai prepares for them. The game is currently in development, with its full release date and price yet to be announced.
The free demo is already available on itch.io, while the Steam demo build remains under review. The upcoming visual novel supports text in 17 languages and offers Japanese and English voice acting, although the English performances are still in beta.
CAN LOVE SAVE ME? DEMO AND GAMEPLAY DETAILS
Can Love Save Me? focuses on conversations and relationship-building rather than conventional action-based gameplay. Players meet Ai in the library and respond to her questions, gradually determining how close they want to become to the mysterious angel.
The demo covers the prologue, beginning with the first meeting and ending just before the player starts reading the book Ai selects for them. This gives players an introduction to the characters, dialogue system, and central premise without revealing the complete experience.
Hikisann has confirmed that the story consists of a large body of pre-written content prepared in advance. Although AI tools were used during development, the game does not generate its narrative live while players interact with Ai.

The game supports Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian, Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Thai, and Vietnamese. Players can select their text and voice languages separately.
Hikisann disclosed using Claude and ChatGPT for writing, translation, and coding, ChatGPT for images, ElevenLabs for voice generation, and Suno for background music. The developer personally handles the game’s direction and scenario planning, including its concept, instructions, and quality checks.
The developer also cautioned that some translations may need further refinement. In a note accompanying the announcement, Hikisann said, “I’m a Japanese solo developer, and the game is still in development, so some of the translations may not be fully polished yet. I’d be grateful for your understanding.”
DEMO AVAILABILITY, CONTENT NOTES, AND STEAM RELEASE
The free Windows 64-bit demo is available on itch.io, and a browser version is included in the press kit. The Windows build currently displays a security warning on its first launch because the developer’s code-signing issue has not yet been resolved. Players concerned about the warning can use the browser version instead.
The game includes mild sexual content, such as visuals emphasizing Ai’s chest. The full version is expected to contain somewhat stronger sexual content but no explicit sexual depictions. The developer describes its intended content as roughly equivalent to Japan’s informal R15-level terminology, which is a cultural reference rather than an official age rating.
Players can wishlist Can Love Save Me? on Steam while awaiting further development updates. The press kit also permits streaming the entire demo, uploading gameplay videos, and monetizing that content. No official release date or price has been announced for the full game.
