C.J. Stroud Controversy- What Happened With C.J. Stroud?
C.J., the star college football player, has found himself surrounded by controversy regarding his poor test score in his NFL’s pre-draft evaluation. He has been facing scrutiny after he scored poorly on the S2 Cognition Test, which is a new evaluation test established to measure the cognitive abilities of a player.
His coach came in defense of Stroud and stated he did extra diggings in his test evaluation, and he shared his findings on ESPN. Day stated he wasn’t sure about the test as there wasn’t any such test when he was in NFL. He said he had a meeting on Zoom with the institute and learned that the test is based on one’s eye reaction and reaction to pressing buttons.
The test doesn’t have any IQ test or questions that are used to check a player’s ability. Stroud’s Coach also alleged that the leaked information about Stroud’s test scores wasn’t accurate. He also informed the audience that ten scores are part of the ST Process evaluation. The controversy started on Friday when former Green Bay Packers beat writer Bob McGinn reported the S2 Cognition Test of Stroud.
Stroud reportedly only scored 18% on his test, which was low enough to ring warning bells among people, including one NFL executive who informed McGinn that the result of Stroud was incredibly terrible. The executive also stated that Strouds’ is going to be on boards, and most probably, he won’t be picked by those teams.
Responding to the controversy, Stroud stated that he is not a test taker but a football player, and at the end of the day, he has nothing to prove to anybody. He also said he wouldn’t sit there and explain how I process football. Stroud claimed I knew what I could do and what I could process, and even if I’m not the smartest quarterback in this draft, I was one of the smartest players on the field.
Stroud’s result controversy has started to make people doubt his ability as a professional footballer. Stroud was previously a part of the controversy during the Heisman Trophy Ceremony when Desmond Howard and Stroud didn’t shake hands. Howard cleared the controversy by stating it was nothing. People find anything to create waves. He also said that Robert Griffin and Billy Sims were standing next to me, and they didn’t shake hands, but no one cared.
They focused on the one person who went to Michigan, and he got it that the people need to find negativity to sell, and it’s no problem. Stroud is one of the young NFL-drafted players who have to face severe backlash by no fault of his. He has often received backlash on social media from people who think he did something wrong when he didn’t do anything.
