Jung Joon Young, a major figure in the Burning Sun scandal, has resurfaced online. Convicted of multiple sexual offenses, he was found guilty of raping several women in 2016. Jung also secretly filmed intimate encounters and shared the footage in chat rooms since 2015.
After serving a five-year sentence in Mokpo, South Jeolla, Jung was recently released. He was recently spotted in Lyon, France, on July 8. A netizen shared a photo online showing Jung with long hair and facial hair, smiling despite his past.
The netizen stated, “He was at a bar trying to flirt with women, asking for their Instagram accounts and mentioning plans to open a Korean restaurant in Lyon. He introduced himself as June, claiming to be a famous singer from Korea.”
Videos later surfaced, showing Jung Joon Young getting close to women at the club. This isn’t the first time Jung attempted a restaurant venture; in 2018, he tried to open one in Paris, but the Burning Sun scandal halted his plans.
Since his release, rumors have circulated about Jung planning to emigrate. His recent actions in Lyon have only fueled further outrage and controversy.
