South Korean actor Son Suk-ku has been appointed as the latest brand ambassador for the esteemed British luxury label Burberry.
“Long admired Burberry, so it’s a big honor,” Son expressed, reflecting on his new role. He recently portrayed a detective in the 2024 Netflix drama “A Killer Paradox.”
With a diverse array of roles spanning multiple genres over the past decade, Son has captivated global audiences.
Notably, viewers may recognize him from his portrayal as a detective alongside South Korean actress Doona Bae in the second season of the cult Netflix science fiction drama “Sense8.”
In 2021, he showcased his talent in the widely acclaimed Netflix military action series “Deserter Pursuit.”
The subsequent year, he garnered critical acclaim and recognition by clinching the Best New Actor award for his compelling portrayal of the antagonist in the crime action blockbuster “The Roundup,” which emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2022 in South Korea.
His stellar performance in the drama series “My Liberation Notes” further solidified his status as a versatile actor.
Burberry emphasized that Son embodies the essence of the brand and warmly welcomed him into its esteemed community.

Local media reports indicate that Son Suk-ku harbored aspirations of becoming a documentary director initially.
He pursued his passion by studying film and art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Upon his return to South Korea, he assumed the role of chief executive officer at GOMT, a prominent machine tool manufacturing company.
However, driven by his love for acting, he eventually made the decision to step away from management to pursue a career in acting full-time.
