The episode begins with Kazuki picking up Miri from her school on a rainy day; Miri, being highly energetic and happy, spaces out while walking towards Kazuki. Due to her not paying attention, her umbrella gets blown away and stamped by her vehicle.

It was revealed in previous episodes that Kazuki has been sending funds to Karin as he feels responsible for her sister’s death and somehow wants to make it up. Although he keeps insisting it’s his fault, Karin refuses to accept any money from him.
Kazuki goes to visit his girlfriend’s grave, and he meets Karin again, who makes him understand that it was not his fault that she died and that her sister always wanted to see him smile and would be sad if she found out how he is living.
After giving it some thought, he figures out that he should not release his pent-up frustration on Miri and Rei and should help them so that they don’t make the same mistakes he did and end up hating themselves.
