Overall, it is about an attached teacher or a suicidal former idol. Tough call, honestly. But, while Shibasawa’s actions may be rooted in her selfishness and love for Reiji, at least we know if a relationship were to form between Reiji and herself, she’d see to it that he has no reason to kill himself.
There is no reason to give up on life and spend whatever is left at the bottom of the abyss.
The teacher is insane, but she’s the right choice for Reiji. Nagi is number one, but I feel she ignited Reiji’s passion to off himself. At least the teacher is trying to save him (even though she’s crazy).
Part of me feels like Reiji is only doing this because he is a bit of a people-pleaser. He keeps his head down and focuses on ensuring everyone else is satisfied. Meanwhile, he never does anything that benefits him.
I think he knows Shibasawa’s feelings are genuine, even if only for a moment; he wants to reciprocate them for her fake, despite knowing he doesn’t feel that way about her. At the same time, though, who knows?
